Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Department of Engineering Technology consists of over 400 students and 10 full-time faculty members in two ABET-accredited undergraduate 4-year degree programs (Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology). The faculty are committed to student success and to delivering a nationally recognized program. Scholarship in the department spans both industry- and government-funded research projects focused on practical application of engineering principles. The faculty have expertise in areas that include manufacturing, CNC machining and fabrication, additive manufacturing, engineering materials, nondestructive testing, mechanism design, product development, prototyping, mechanical design of automated manufacturing systems, biomedical applications, engineering design graphics, as well as teaching and learning in engineering education. Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a pool of open rank, part-time faculty positions in the Department of Engineering Technology for the academic year 2023-2024. These positions are on an as needed, semester-by-semester basis. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching undergraduate courses in the mechanical engineering technology program (i.e. welding and fabrication for engineers, etc.)


Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Exceptional professional experience (at least 7 years of professional experience).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of AWS welding symbology (Interpretation and application).
  • Knowledge of destructive and non-destructive welding tests.
  • Knowledge of welding discontinuities and the prevention thereof.
  • Knowledge and ability to teach students (hands-on) basic SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW exercises.
  • Knowledge of general fabrication processes including forming, shearing, punching, fixturing.
  • An earned bachelors, masters or doctoral degree, or its foreign equivalent, in engineering, or closely related field., or its foreign equivalent.
  • Certified SolidWorks Professional Certification or better.
  • Expertise in mechanics, machining, and/or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Industry experience.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • Significant relevant work experience.
  • College level teaching, and online teaching are pluses.
